Website Development - Keep Your Site Crisp and Fresh

Crisp and fresh food is what every body wants. You may want to eat it even if you are not hungry and once you start eating it, you do not wish to stop.

It is the same with a website. There are websites that you come across just by chance. You were not actually searching for them. But once you land upon them you do not want to leave them. In fact you forget that you were searching for something else. The content that they offer is like crisp and fresh food.  It is like a diamond mine. The more you dig, the more you find and again the deeper you dig.

What if you exhaust the content of site from start to finish! You hit all the links, read all the pages! It has to end somewhere like a novel or a book.

The truth is that a good website does not stop providing you fresh and informative content. It is not like a book that has to go through an elaborate process of printing to be updated.

This is the beauty of updating website content. It can be updated daily, almost hourly with fresh, informative, interesting and useful content.

The content on your website should provide the kind of information that most people are hungry for. It should provide the information that people had tried hard to find, but could not find elsewhere. It is like what Google says on its search engine page: ‘I am feeling lucky’ when they land upon your site. They should feel thrilled by the quality of information the web pages unleash as the people browse through them.

Therefore it has been rightly said that content is the king. It is the hub around which the whole website revolves. It is the foundation, the reason of its being.  No amount of flashiness, color schemes, graphics, pictures, videos can compensate the lack of good content. The truth is that most people do not search the web for these superficial elements of website. People search the web just for one reason. It is the information—content.

Website content is basic to website development. A static content loses its rank on the front page of the search engine. The truth is that website development is a continuous process. It, in fact, begins only after the website is technically ready.

The question arises how to keep the content fresh, crisp and updated? A simple answer to that is the webmaster should keep deleting the old and outdated content from it and adding new and relevant information based upon the latest keyword research.

The webmaster should use the keyword research tools like Wordtracker or Google’s keyword research tool to find out what keywords and phrases the web searchers are using to find information in context of the content of the website. The content of the website can be updated by publishing articles based upon the most searched keywords and phrases.

A crisp and fresh content has to be original, unique and informative. Plagiarized, copied and pasted black hat content will sooner get your site banned than later.

There are numerous ways to get the fresh and crisp content for the development of your site. You buy the PLR articles/books that are relevant to the content of your site. PLR books or articles, by their nature, allow you to rehash, change or mould the content according to your needs and print it in your site. This is the cheapest way to get the fresh content.

A more costly way is to hire ghost writers. There are numerous websites where you can find ghost writers.

There is yet another way to get the content for you site. It is like forums. You raise an issue in your website and invite your readers to express their views and comments. You get viewers and content free of cost. The drawback to this is that if the content is not original you can be charged with copyright issues.

You can go to article directories and find the articles relevant to your site and publish them. All you need to do is to seek the permission of their authors and retain their links. Most authors and publishers will willingly allow you to print their articles on your site.

While content is of utmost importance in keeping your site crisp and fresh, you may also have to pay attention to its technical aspects. You may need to restructure your site, make changes in its navigation system, include new hyper links and mould text links to make the site more dynamic and interactive.
